This is something I've been doing for quite a while and others may find handy if you haven't already discovered it. You can make bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar without giving them a title, so they all cram together nicely in a fast, visual interface. Obviously this only works with sites that have an identifiable mini-icon for bookmarks, but most sites do anyways.

What you do is:

1) Go to the Bookmarks menu and choose Bookmark This Page.

2) Either leave the Name it wants to give it, or name it just a blank space, aka " ". If you want to keep a short name (like some of mine), put it in now, and ignore steps 5 and 6.

3) In the Folder drop-down menu, choose Bookmarks Toolbar.

4) Click Done.

5) Right click the new bookmark where it has shown up on the toolbar, choose Properties, and delete the name entirely. There doesn't need to be a blank space or anything.

6) Click Save.

Done! As you can see from my setup, folders with short names are also handy for things you don't want to have right on the bar but also don't want to go fishing through the main bookmarks tree for. Folders can be added to the toolbar via the Organize Bookmarks function of the Bookmark menu; you can also add Separator bars that way (the little vertical lines).

This is great because almost every website has its own favicon. No need for titles. And I use almost the same distribution of sections as you, only difference is the refresh button, I just use F5 or ctrl+F5. Been using this for quite some time now. It's especially useful for widescreen users, saves up lot of space. The only issue with this minimalistic look is to find the right firefox persona, because they are made for the basic look, which has a bit more height. :D
